It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald “Don” Murdock, who peacefully departed on March 20, 2026, at Melaleuca Court Nursing Home, aged 87. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife Joyce, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were touched by his life.
Don Murdock was a devoted husband, celebrating 65 years of marriage with Joyce, a testament to a partnership built on love, trust, and mutual respect. To his children, Tony, Kym, and Michelle, and their partners, he was an inspiring father—guiding, supporting, and loving them unconditionally. His family remembers him as a man of warmth, kindness, and gentle humor, whose presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around him.
As a grandfather and great-grandfather, Don’s influence extended across generations. He adored his grandchildren—Skye, Nick, Amber, Rhyce, Rohan, and Pierce—and cherished every moment spent with his eight great-grandchildren. His love and wisdom will continue to guide his family, leaving an enduring legacy of care, compassion, and family unity.
Don was also a man who cared deeply for others beyond his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in his memory, reflecting his lifelong spirit of generosity and community service.
A funeral service to honor Don’s life will be held at Warooka Uniting Church on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, at 1:00 PM, where family, friends, and community members are warmly invited to celebrate a life well-lived.
Don Murdock’s life was marked by devotion to family, kindness to others, and an unwavering commitment to love. Though he will be dearly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family’s cherished words—“Love you and leave you”—stand as a lasting tribute to his life and the love he shared.
