It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Alan Watson, who died peacefully in the early hours of Sunday morning at the age of 87. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife Mavis, his family—Norma, Andrew, Alistair, and their loved ones—and all who are mourning this significant loss.

Alan was a cherished and devoted member of Central Methodist Church, where his presence was felt in every corner. His dedication, care, and tireless contributions helped shape the heart and spirit of the church community. There was scarcely a part of the building or its ministry untouched by his kindness and commitment. In return, Alan was deeply loved and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

More than his service, Alan will be remembered for his warmth, gentle humor, and the joy he brought to everyday moments. Whether sharing fellowship over a meal or expressing his vibrant personality through his trademark bright ties, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His love for community, faith, and simple pleasures reflected a life lived with gratitude and generosity.

As a devoted family man, Alan’s greatest legacy lies in the love he shared with his family. His guidance, compassion, and unwavering support will continue to live on in their hearts.

A funeral service to celebrate Alan’s life will be held on Maundy Thursday, April 2nd, at 11:00 AM at Central Methodist Church, followed by a private committal and refreshments at the Masonic Hall. Donations in his memory will support the ongoing ministry of the church he loved so dearly. Attendees are invited to wear a splash of bright color in tribute to Alan’s vibrant spirit.

May Alan Watson rest in peace, rise in glory, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
